Halloween has to be one of my favorite Holidays. I love everything about the day from the cooler weather to the decorations to the sites and sounds of little goblins masking their favorite characters. When I was little, My house would be decorated with ghosts, witches and skeletons. Now it is decorated with corn stalks and hay bails. Much more elegant. I also love making decorations for the house and Walmart has some of the cutest patterns and fabric. This is why Tammie’s Take is pleased to be offering a $25 Walmart in the SPOOKtacular Giveaway Hop.

A truly kickass mermaid costume that featured a lovely tail made of green silk. It was stuffed with filling so that it was like a big fin-shaped pillow, and sewed to a long green skirt so that it flopped around when I walked. For obvious reasons, that was my favorite Halloween costume.

I was a fortune teller, but it was the 70s, so I was a gypsy. It is important to know that because the rest of the story is that I walked around all day in school and after telling everyone I was Gypsy Rose Lee. The name was just pretty and I just loved it. My mom was pretty horrified and amused.

One year I made the solar system out of cardboard circles I cut out. I used those squeeze tubes of paint for decorating shirts, used some glitter glue, and painted each planet. I got black leggings and a black turtle neck, had my mom paint my face yellow to be the sun, and tied each of the planets up and hung them from my arms.
