Do you find an issue with giving your dog rawhide treats? I never really thought about it. I just assumed that dogs loved rawhide treats. My dog Sam is a large breed German Shepard and the average life span is around 10 years. Sam is going to be 15 in April. It has taken a lot to get Sam to this age as his hips are really getting the best of him. We are giving him the latest injections and medications to help ease his joint pain but I just wish we could do more to help him. I know with his aging that his teeth are not as strong to stand up to rawhide. Plus, I was not keen in giving him those kind of treats. Sam has become very finicky in his eating to the point that I am trying a lot of different ways and forms. I read that giving a dog cat food and throw off his sense of smell and well, Sam started eating again but then slowed down. The vet said to give him anything that he was willing to eat-Even if it is treats. When I set the bag down and arranged them to take the picture, He went nuts! He wanted what was in those bags and there was no telling him to wait. I had to open the bag and give him a treat. He was then satisfied and sat quite chewing away on his treat and then we went to the next bag and on and on until he tasted every treat. I was able to take the picture~
