    May is the last month of school for my kids, so it is super busy and I am running around helping teachers, planning parties for the school and figuring out things for the next school year!

    My birthday is in May but my favorite thing about May is being outside and in my garden. We had so much rain and cold weather in April that I’m more than ready to be outdoors.

    I love the way everything lightens up, from not needing heavy clothing or blankets, to the gentle breezes and flowers springing up. I love to see the buds blooming and little critters start coming out.

    I love May because typically it’s when the nice weather is around for good. We get a few “false starts” here in Iowa where it will be nice and then bam snow storm so in May we’re generally out of the woods for cold weather.

    We didn’t get spring this year— it was a mild winter with no snow. By February, the average daily temperature was 65… now we’re running in the mid 80’s already,— gonna be a hot summer.

    May is bittersweet. What I dislike about May is that some horrible things happened in this month; my then 19 year old niece passed away five years ago this month, my husbands grandpa passed away 4 years ago this month and our oldest daughter went through a horrible break up 6 years ago this month. But a few good things have happened as well; our same daughter that went through the horrible break up married a great guy who helped her through it and they are going to celebrate their second anniversary next week. 🙂 Also my first great great nephew(on my side) was born last May and he’s a cutie!
