I try to make a beef tenderloin for the main meal at Christmas. I have bought pieces of meat that are less expensive but they have not turned out as well. I usually season it just slightly and then low and slow cook. We usually have other items with the beef but the beef goes first.
So my favorite side dishes are noodles or any variety. I’m a pasta girl and could skip the meat entirely.
I love cheesy potatoes.
I enjoy the holiday sweets like cookies!
Around the holiday season, my dad and I always try to go out ice skating together– we’ve done this ever since I was little. …I say “try” because in recent years the weather has been strange, and there hasn’t always been enough ice to skate safely! 🙂
I like Watergate salad.
I love my grandmother’s homemade dressing, but my little girl has to have macaroni and cheese.
My side dishes are greens and mac and cheese
We usually have ham for Christmas and with that, it kind of changes. I like mashed potatoes!

We always have ham for Christmas, and my family loves hash brown casserole with it. Similar to what is served at Cracker Barrel.
Mashed potatoes and green beans are my go to sides
Every Christmas Eve, my family would always listen to music– and still does. One of our favorites is Elvis Presley’s Christmas album.
My and my family and most of my friend’s favorite side dish is Harvest Potatoes. It is like a very cheesy potato casserole with a crushed Corn Flake/butter topping. Really yummy!
I love cheesy potatoes. 12/6
My favorite side dishes are mashed potatoes and corn!
I really like deviled eggs with my Christmas ham.
I loves salad and mashed potatoes! YUM 🙂
My husband likes to make his famous mashed potatoes as a side dish.

I love to do arts and crafts in general, but one thing I’ve always loved to do leading up to the holidays is Christmas cross-stitch.
I love Cheesy potatoes and Pecan pie.
I always make mac and cheese and green beans to go with the ham.
We like to drive around to look at Christmas lights.
When we go to the family annual Christmas party we all bring something. I always bring 5 dozen krispy Kreme donuts.
I like Watergate salad. 12/8
Home made dressing is my favorite holiday side dish
I love to make chocolate-covered cherries (from scratch!) around this time of year. They’re a big hit, and great to give as little gifts!
For Christmas, we usually make side dishes similar to Thanksgiving side dishes. So far I’m planning macarroni and cheese, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, etc.
We love making biscuits as a side dish during the holidays.
I love cheesy potatoes. 12/9
My favorite side dish is potato cheese casserole.
I love cheesy potatoes. 12/10
Potatoes in some form are always included as a side dish during the holidays.
Several years ago, my family stumbled upon the movie “Christmas in Connecticut” while channel-surfing. We fell in love with it, and now we watch it every year on Christmas Eve.
One tradition we have done for years is I always get the family Christmas Pajamas to wear to bed on Christmas Eve. Now my young grandsons love to see their jammies they are going to wear.
I love cheesy potatoes. 12/11
For side dishes I enjoy making a persimmon and pomegranate salad and maple brussel sprouts.
We like to donate to toys for tots during the holidays as a tradition.
I like to make pumpkin spinach lasagna for Christmas dinner.
One tradition is to go downtown (Chicago) and visit Christkindlmarket, the German Christmas market. It’s gorgeous, and so much fun!
I love cheesy potatoes. 12/12
My mother in law makes garlic shrimp as a side dish during the holidays.
Every year I leave a holiday card and small care package for our mail carrier.
For side dishes I like to make garlic mashed potatoes and green bean casserole.
I also like to make enough Christmas cookies to feed an army.
I really like making biscotti. It keeps for a long time, people enjoy it (I have a great go-to recipe!), and it’s really nice for gift-giving.
I love cheesy potatoes. 12/13
I’m crazy for sweet potato cream-cheese casserole. It’s topped with chopped apples and dried cranberries, and further topped off with a streusel-like mixture heaping with chopped pecans. Come to think of it, it’s really more a dessert that’s served as a side-dish, but it’s absolutely delicious!
I love cheesy potatoes. 12/14
One of our annual traditions is to watch the Charlie Brown holiday specials on TV.
We make cinnamon rolls and change them to be shaped like Christmas trees. Then, we decorate them with skittles or sixlets before we eat Christmas breakfast.
One of my favorite holiday traditions is looking at holiday lights around our area. The bright lights are so beautiful! I enjoy beef for Christmas so creamy mashed potatoes and homemade gravy is one of my favorite holiday side dishes.
I like Watergate salad. 12/15
A tradition for me is to make handmade ornaments for my tree each year.
I have to have sweet potato casserole with crushed pecans and caramel drizzle. I also have to have my husbands homemade mashed potatoes. With out those 2 sides, it is just not a special meal.
I love cheesy potatoes. 12/16
I like to make maply syrup brussel sprouts.
One “tradition” that we have in our family is that on Christmas Eve, we argue about whether we each open one gift– or, whether we wait until Christmas Day. But it’s all in good fun. 🙂
I Love green bean casserole and cheese biscuits! I’m hungry already!
I always have broccoli casserole and deviled eggs because that’s what my sons always ask for.
I like making ham and cheesy potatoes sometime around the holidays.

Another tradition is to hand out small gifts to strangers or RAK.
We have a tradition of listening to the local 24/7 Christmas radio stations, even if they’re annoying. :-p
I like making Bourbon Chocolate Pecan pie.
I love cheesy potatoes. 12/18
Our favorite tradition is to play a new board game each Christmas. We love corn casserole as a side dish!
The # 1 item I like to make for Christmas dinner is a Cherry Coke Jello Salad with sweet cherries, cream cheese and pecans. Is it a salad or is it a dessert? In any case, it is delicious. I also like to make from scratch mashed potatoes, corn bread dressing and sweet potato casserole.
Everyone expects Deviled Eggs and sweet potatoes with the ham they just love them
