How to Look and Feel Your Best Every Day

How many days do you wake up and feel like you’ve got the weight of the world on your shoulders? Do you look in the mirror and often wonder why you look so tired? Are there days when you just want to slouch around in your comfy clothes and not talk to anyone?

We all have these days, but it can be a problem when they become a little too frequent. If this is something you can, unfortunately, relate to, don’t despair! You can do something about it. However, to feel good about yourself requires more than just an impressive outward appearance. With that in mind, below are some things you can do to see yourself in a more positive light every day.

Exercise Regularly

There’s a lot of benefits of regular exercise, and we could all do with getting more. As well as keeping your weight in check, regular exercise also improves your overall health. Your circulation gets a boost when you exercise, which, in turn, improves your appearance. Aerobic exercise, for example, walking or swimming, increases your heart rate, which then increases blood flow to your cells.

As well as being good for your body, exercise also improves your mood. This is because it can be a way to get your aggression out, have some “me time,” and it releases endorphins.

Smile More

It might seem a strange thing to do but smiling at yourself in the mirror will lighten your mood. Think about how you feel when a person smiles at you. Their smile is warm and inviting even if you don’t know them. Smiling is a universal signal for warmth, attractiveness, and approachability. Therefore, smiling at yourself in the mirror sends the same neural cues.

Invest in a Wardrobe that Makes You Feel Confident

Your wardrobe has the power to empower and transform you. Your clothing can influence your confidence, making you a stronger individual. Think about what you would wear if you were going for an interview. You’d probably choose to wear professional business clothing. You do this not just to impress your prospective employer, but to improve your confidence. When you look in your closet in the morning, you want to be able to choose from a selection of items that inspire you. Think about Gucci’s Italian craftsmanship, for example. This luxury brand will make you feel classy and sophisticated.

Eat a Rainbow of Food

Choosing to eat foods that are the colors of the rainbow will ensure you’re getting all the necessary nutrients and fiber. Vitamins, polyphenols, and flavonoids will help your hair and skin look their best. Eat vegetables and fruit that are orange, red, green and blue, and you’ll soon be feeling on top of the world. Include high fiber grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats, and your whole body will benefit.

Final Tip: One more spot of advice is to relax whenever possible! We all lead our lives at such a fast pace that it’s easy to forget about taking time out for ourselves. Set aside half an hour every night to relax in a nice hot bath. Add some essential oils or natural bath salts, and you’ll enjoy a restful night’s sleep.

Yikes, regular exercise eludes me. I get on a roll and then something happens to disrupt the routine.
