5 ways to strengthen your relationship

Reviews · November 30, 2017

Even if you are incredibly proud of the current state of your relationship, it is vital that you still put the work in. There is always room for improvement. It is also important to remember that you and your partner are constantly changing. As you move through life, your tastes will change, your personalities will evolve, and your perspectives will alter. That is why you need to do everything in your power to ensure your connection stands the test of time. If you are wondering how to do this, you will need to read on. Below are five ways that you can strengthen your relationship.

Give each other gifts

Although it is useful to have a routine, it is also important to take your partner by surprise from time to time. One of the best ways for you to do this is by treating them to a thoughtful gift. Ideally, this gift should be an item that introduces a little excitement into your relationship. If you are searching for inspiration, you should turn to Hydromax. This is the perfect place for you to find a gift that will help to improve your partner’s confidence. It could also help to improve your levels of intimacy.

Give each other compliments

Make it your goal to give your partner a compliment every time you see them. Whatever you do, don’t just stick to aesthetic observations, as this could come across as shallow. Instead, you should think about deep and meaningful compliments that you can share with your other half. You could even make each other positive affirmation jars that are filled with uplifting opinions about each other. This will take the pressure off you having to remember to say something each day. Instead, your partner can choose when they enjoy one of your compliments.

Schedule in conversations

Even if you are struggling to manage a particularly demanding schedule, you should still make time for conversations with your partner. This will ensure that you stay connected and are receptive to each other’s needs. Perhaps you could set aside at least one evening every week to talk things through. Obviously, it would be great if you could find even more time, but this is not always possible. When you do get the chance to talk, make sure that you turn off your technology, eliminate all distractions, and sit facing one another. It may feel awkward at first, but it is a great way for you to improve your emotional intimacy.

Prepare each other meals

You should also have a go at preparing each other meals. Simple gestures like this are a great way to express affection. Why not look out for days when your partner is extremely stressed and will benefit from an uplifting treat? Just imagine how touched they will be if you go out of your way to bring a smile to their face. You should also encourage your partner to do the same. Hopefully, they will do so without you having to ask, but if not you could always challenge each other to make at least one special meal a week. Don’t worry this doesn’t have to be a complicated process. There are plenty of quick and easy dinners that will still taste delicious.

Set yourself a joint goal

In your relationship, you should be working together as a team. You need to have each other’s backs in stressful situations and understand both of your strengths and weaknesses. Why not improve this area of your relationship by setting yourself a collective goal? You could run a marathon together, raise money for a charitable organization, or undertake a DIY project. The most important thing is that you are working together to do something positive.

5 Tips to Deter Intruders

Reviews · November 29, 2017

The holiday season is upon us. It’s a time for coming together and celebrating, giving and receiving gifts, and being thankful and grateful for what we have. Unfortunately, it is also a time when we are susceptible to being victims of crime. Read on how to make the holiday season remembered for all the right reasons.

  1. Recycle

Yes, you read it correctly, and you may be questioning how your recycling can affect your potential for being a victim of crime. The cardboard boxes that you leave out on the curb for the recycling collection are a very clear indicator to people that you have recently had a whole lot of new equipment that is a prime target for intruders. Break up your cardboard boxes into smaller pieces so that they fit in bins.

  1. Light up

Install LED flood lights from E-conolight into your garden or yard so that your outside space is adequately lit. Pay attention to doorways and any dark passageways or vulnerable areas. Not only are you burglar proofing your outside space, but making it safer for you to use the space in the dark too. Invest in some timers for lamps for inside your home, so that they come on when it gets dark. Don’t light up your living spaces as this will just illuminate the fact the house is empty; instead, opt for lamps in hallways of upstairs rooms that will give the illusion of someone being home.

  1. Landscape

Don’t be tempted to leave your garden or yard to become neglected over winter. Just because you are not outside enjoying it like you do in milder seasons, it does not mean that you should allow it to become unkempt. Unkempt gardens provide ideal hiding places for intruders to watch your home from. Try to mow the lawn once again before winter becomes too harsh: people equate long grass lawns with homes whose occupants have gone away on vacation. Keep items such as ladders locked away in a garage or storage to prevent any opportunistic robbers from being able to access your home – they tend not to bring their own!

  1. Mirror, mirror on the wall

Mirrors are essential accessories for any interior; however, check what view your mirror can provide an outside inquisitive intruder. Can they see whether your security system is activated by looking in the mirror? Or, perhaps they can see the car keys on the console table? Step outside and look through the windows to examine what your mirror reflects, it may be more than you had hoped. Cut to size mirrors can help avoid the scenario where the current mirror is offering a view for potential intruders, fitting to dimensions that suit your house layout.

  1. If you can’t make it, fake it

From the street, an intruder will not be able to tell whether your CCTV cameras are real or dummy, and nor will they hang around to test it! You can also purchase decals of a fake alarm system to deter opportunistic thieves further. Another great trick to use is for your neighbors to leave footprints in the driveway and around the yard if it snows while you are away.

People rob houses as and when they see fit – if the right circumstances are aligned. They will not enter a home or property if they consider that the chances of getting caught are high. Use these tips to reduce the chances of your home being targeted so that you can enjoy the rest of the holiday season in peace.

Get All Your Entertainment Needs In One Place With Xfinity By Comcast #XfinityMoms #Ad

Reviews · November 28, 2017

The below sponsored blog post is written by me on behalf of Xfinity.  Whether or not you agree with me, All opinions and thoughts are 100% my own.

Which communication provider to do use? With the world advancing in the world of technology, You have to pay attention to who you are servicing with. I mean there are so many providers on the market but who to go with? I was thrilled to recently be invited to attend a blogging event at our local Pittsburgh Xfinity Store for #XfinityMoms.

I will be the first to admit that I was not a Comcast customer and was very excited to hear all about what Comcast was and what they offered as I was not sure how Xfinity came into play. After some socializing, We settled down to listen to various people showing us about the products that were being offered. I do not put a lot of restrictions on my kids but the one thing I require is that we all have dinner as a family at least 4 to 5 times a week and hopefully more than that. Having 4 kids, One major thing I would love to change about our family dinners is to have my family members turn off or not to bring their technology to the table. I just feel that is the time for us to learn about each others day and not who messaged who or who posted what. With Xfinity xFi, I can now pause or turn off everyone’s technology by pausing their wifi. This is an awesome feature only unique to Comcast. I have not heard about this feature on any other brand. If I am wrong, Please let me know by commenting below. I love this feature!

Another feature I have found that I cannot live without is the Xfinity X1 voice remote. XFINITY X1 features entertainment just for you by letting you talk into the remote to find a channel, show, movie….Whatever you are looking for. Experience TV like never before with X1. It’s personalized, dynamic, and most of all, It is mine. I have Glaucoma and sometimes it is hard for me to see the buttons on the remote. This way all I have to do is speak my choice and it brings up on the screen all of the choices that match what I have spoken. Another feature I have learned very quickly not to live without. I have found that I can do so much more with the Xfinity X1 voice remote such as voting for my favorite contestant or binge watching my favorite shows on Netflix. Don’t have a smart T.V., No problem because the XFINITY X1 remote turns every T.V. into a smart T.V.. Talk about an added bonus~

Let’s talk about On Demand. I have heard but did not really believe that XFINITY has one of the largest On Demand libraries on the market but that was until I saw it first hand for myself. You name it-It probably is on it. My Husband is getting a little obsessed with XFINITY On Demand as he will stay up really, really late watching all kinds of movies.

The DVR is an awesome feature also as I love the fact that if I record a show in the living room, I can watch it in the bedroom. The ability to watch any DVR recording in another room is the perfect feature for me. Doing laundry, washing dishes or even straightening up the house puts me in a different room and being able to watch a recording gets 2 things done at the same time. I love multi-tasking.

By the end of this event, I did sign up for Comcast. Why? Not only all of the above reasons but I can manage not only my account on a variety of devices but I can manage what I can do with certain aspects of my plan such as pausing the wifi for a child when it is bedtime or allow a child of mine a certain time limit that they are allowed to be on their device.

Xfinity has me sold because I do not know of a communication company that has all of these products. Check out your local Xfinity Store to learn more or even sign up.

The Benefits of Regularly Decluttering Your Home

Reviews · November 28, 2017

Homeowners often accumulate many products over the years, which can quickly and easily create a messy space that can impact their environment. Taking the time to sort through your belongings can, therefore, free up both your mind and space. Find out the benefits of regularly decluttering your home.

More Living Space

Many homeowners have a bad habit of piling their belongings in boxes, closets and drawers to free up space. Yet, too many items can make a home feel uncomfortable to live in. Comfort should be a key priority in your household, which is why you must take the time to remove any unnecessary belongings, so you can enjoy more living space within your property.

Don’t forget, all those excess belongings will have gathered much dust over the many months or years, which is why you should also consider sprucing up your home with professional cleaners, such as athcleaningservices.co.uk.

Increase Concentration

A cluttered home equals a cluttered mind. The act of decluttering excess objects can create a more positive environment, as it can improve a person’s concentration levels and ability to process information. It’s scientifically proven to increase your focus, as neuroscientists from Princeton University discovered physical clutter will compete for your attention, which can impact your stress levels and performance. So, if you work at home, it might be time to declutter your space.

Find Your Favorite Things

Once you have said goodbye to clutter, you will be able to find and use your favorite things. People often incorporate their much-loved items alongside belongings they don’t really want or need, so they could become lost in a crowd of junk. Decluttering your home will allow you to use your most valuable or cherished items, as they won’t be overshadowed by distracting clutter.

Charitable Donations

Many household finances are often tied to expensive bills, such as mortgage repayments, car insurance and groceries. However, you more than likely have many items of value going to waste inside your home, which could benefit various charitable organizations and could provide you with a charitable tax deduction. So, do your good deed for the month or year and declutter your home to find items to donate to a worthy cause. After all, one person’s junk is another person’s treasure.

Discover Collectibles

Are you guilty of stuffing your attic with products you no longer use? Well, why not review all those unwanted belongings, as you could come across some forgotten items that could bring value into your life. For example, that once worthless figurine, sports memorabilia, antique or vinyl could now be a collectible, and could fetch a considerable amount of money at an auction. So, declutter the attic while identifying if you have a variety of items that could boost your bank balance.

An Improved Mood

Clutter can make a person feel irritable. Not only can it create much visual noise, but it will also make a person feel as if they have not got a grip on their life, which can impact their general mood. So, if you want to improve your quality of life and self-esteem, all you might need to do is declutter your home. You’ll be surprised by the difference it can make to your personal happiness.
