I received the below complimentary product either for free or a discounted price for the purpose of this post. All opinions and thoughts are 100% my own.

How do you find your own “Me-Time”? If you have a family with children, Then you know just how hard it is to take time for yourself. My kids are my life and they will always come first but I have found that if you take a little Me-Time” that giving of yourself to your family becomes so much better. I was thrilled when the opportunity came about to try Softsoft’s Hydra Bliss Hydrating Body Wash in:

* Coconut Water & Blueberry

And Pure Zen Relaxing Body Wash in:

About Softsoap~

How I find “Me-Time”~

Me-Time #5

I will go for a walk by myself. Getting a good amount for fresh air is so very important. Taking in what the outdoors has to offer.

Me-Time #10

Sitting at the breakfast table before everyone gets up with my favorite cup of joe or tea. Looking out the window as the sun shines gently casting a warm shadow on me.

Me-Time #15

Taking a soothing shower using Softsoap’s Pure Zen Relaxing Body Wash in Jasmine & Watermint. This scent just takes you away to a place of piece and tranquility.

Me-Time #20

I get rid of my itchy, dry flaky skin by taking a shower with Softsoap’s Hydra Bliss Hydrating Body Wash in Cucumber Water & Mint. Not only does this do the trick but my family loves it.

Me-Time #25

Go to the Zoo or a petting zoo. There just is something about baby animals that is so calming. This has to be one of my favorite ways to relax and unwind besides  taking a shower with Softsoap.

The Ultimate Work-Life Balance Guide

Reviews · February 23, 2018

Balancing work and life is extremely difficult. On the one hand, if you work all the time you will never see your family and friends and will likely never be happy. On the other hand, if you don’t care about work at all, you will likely never achieve the financial security that will allow you to be truly happy.

Everything in life is about balance and work vs. life is definitely not an exception. If this is something that you struggle with, then hopefully these 3 tips will help you get a little bit better of an idea of how to strike this balance.

  1. Find What Works for You

A married mother with two young children is obviously going to want to (and have to) spend significantly more time at home than a single guy whose main passion in life is climbing mountains while outfitted in his Montem mountain climbing gear. Work-life balance isn’t one size fits all. Every person has different needs and different ways of life that will make them happy.

Some people really enjoy work and completely don’t mind putting in tons of hours while others stare at the clock counting down the seconds. Just like finding a credit repair plan is specific to your unique credit situation, a work-life balance plan will also depend on your individual circumstances.

Another way to think about a work-life balance is to think about how your mattress preferences are specific to your expectations. Choosing a best-fit mattress depends on whether you like a firm or soft mattress, and the way the mattress fits into your bedroom space. A work-life balance should also fit into your lifestyle rather than being tailored to someone else’s demands.

Work-life balance is based entirely on personal preference, so it is important to not assume that you have to follow anyone else’s idea of the perfect balance. Find what works for you and what will make you feel happy and fulfilled.

  1. Learn Where to Compromise and Where to Stand Firm

It’s important to get to know yourself and figure out where you are willing to make compromises and when that is just not an option for you. This doesn’t mean that you should run around making huge demands all the time. It just means that you shouldn’t let your boss or your family push you around. It is also important that when you make this distinction for yourself that you stick to it because you should be in control of your own life.

For instance, if you are doing a home remodel for your children and getting a new play area installed, then you’re going to have to make that fit into your schedule. You can’t commit all your life to work and have no time to do the things for your home and family that you need to do. If you need to get more work done, then consider going in early or taking a shorter lunch. If your boss still demands more from you unreasonably, then maybe you need to look for a workplace that respects your time and values.

Finding a workplace where you feel respected and valued is a great way for you to actually enjoy your time at work. In turn, it can make finding a balance simpler, especially if this workplace also understands the importance of a social life. Implementing a work-life balance that works for you is like doing eye convergence exercises—it will strengthen your ability to see ahead and make plans not only for the work week but for the long term.

You will be more respected if you do what you say you will do as well. This is important to your job as well as to your family and friends. Make your word mean something and try your best to stick with it. Committing to work or social responsibilities will help you to build respect and trust, so when things truly do come up unexpectedly, it will be more likely for you to find sympathy.

  1. Make Your Time Worth It

If possible, try to keep your work-life and your home life separate. In other words, try to keep your work at work and your fun at home. Make the most of your time wherever you are.

Trying to answer emails while watching a movie with your family will make you enjoy your time less and will also take more time. Instead, try to stay focused and get everything you need to get done at work. That way, when you get home, you can relax and spend time with family, or let off steam playing online casino games recommended by CrispyGamer or scoring jackpots on the sites reviewed by Casinor. However you choose to spend your free time, it’s important that you make space in your life to do the things you enjoy without letting work dominate your life.

Bringing It All Together

The above suggestions will hopefully inform your work-life balance choices, but it is also important to remember that setbacks will occur because life is unpredictable. There may be times when staying late at work because of an upcoming proposal is unavoidable, just as there may be occasions when you must call out of work for several days due to a severely sick child.

The important thing to keep in mind is that you should try to control what you can and not stress too much about what you can’t. Forming a healthy work-life balance is all about forming habits that make you happy and help you to feel fulfilled in your life.

A Site That Does Good In Today’s Society

Reviews · February 22, 2018

In today’s world, Addiction is at the forefront for some of us. There were 20.6 million people in the United States over the age of 12 with an addiction as of 2011. Addiction is more common in today’s society than one would think. My niece was found dead with a needle still in her arm a few months back. My Mother In Law is still in shock over what happened and that she now knows someone that died of this. Her first thought was of why she could not help this girl? As a blogger, I work with a lot of different companies. Some I say  no to and others I just love to work with. Why? Because they give back. They give back in some way such as by providing a free meal, a donation or even education on their site or their mission statement is one of admiration. They are not just all self absorbed.

Education to me is the most important thing to do in any industry. I thought it was just my up bringing that learning was so important but I think that goes for anything. Before I started blogging, I was a nurse. Did I know how to give a shot? No, I had to learn that. Did I know about the different diseases? No, We learned most of them as I do not think there would be enough time in any class to learn all of them. I was pleased that we did spend a considerable amount of time covering addiction. Take Alcoholism, It is one of the most common addictions affecting Americans. It is also an addiction that goes untreated in many cases because of the legality of the substance. However, the recorded rates of alcoholism are decreasing (18.1 million people in 2002 to 16.7 million in 2011). Even Tobacco and Nicotine have the highest rate of dependence. The good news is that there are more resources than ever to help you quit. Next, You have Marijuana, Cocaine and Prescription Drugs. I could write and write on this subject but there are a lot of sites that I consider sites that are perfect for keeping you well informed.

Addiction is in my family as my Mom died of alcoholism. You probably are saying how can you die from alcoholism? She died from bleeding to death from her esophageal varices rupturing. Yes, They rushed her to surgery to cauterize them but they already were in her lungs and she did not recover from that. We even talked that morning about that this needs to end and she was willing to enter a treatment program. This site has it all. It gives you options and education for you or a love one with an addiction. They cover it all and in an easy to read and to understand articles. You may think that you are talking to them until you are blur in the face but one day they will hear you. Only when they are ready. Please don’t give up on them as they need your love. I know this first hand.

Pittsburgh Is The Place To Live

Reviews · February 21, 2018

When you are looking for a city to live to be your home, There are several things to consider. Do you want a city known for it’s nightlife or do you want a city known for it’s education possibilities or a city known for it’s medical properties? Pittsburgh Pennsylvania is a city that has it all.

I for one know what it is like to live and grow up in other cities as my fathers job caused us to move every 4 to 5 years. Some of the places were o.k. and some were not. It was not until we moved to Pittsburgh Pennsylvania that I felt like I was finally home. I thank my lucky stars that Pittsburgh was the last place we moved to. The perfect place to grow up, Raise a family and go to school. Be it high school or post education, This is where I found my career path in the medical field. Pittsburgh was also the place where I found my soul mate. Eric is one of the most decent and easy going person I know and also my best friend.

Pittsburgh has some of the best post education resources in the U.S.A.. Being home to Carnegie Melon, Duquesne University and even Chatham University- Education is at the forefront for people seeking higher education. Students come from around the world to attend these places for their higher education and research grants.

Singles as well as families are flocking to Pittsburgh as we do have it  all. With Pittsburgh being made up of small communities, There is something for everyone to do to either meet people or do the South Side Crawl. Yes, the younger generation still bar hops. If bars are not your thing, Then I would suggest other activities such as bowling, Ice skating or even a cooking class to meet that special someone or just make new friends. You will not find a friendlier city than Pittsburgh. Making friends has always came easy to me as I love learning about people and what makes them tick. I guess you could say that is why I became a Nurse.

One of my personal favorite things I love about Pittsburgh are the medical advances that this region has discovered. Pittsburgh is known for it’s medical hospitals where most hospitals have a specialty. Being a Nurse for 25 years, I have had the pleasure of working in quite a few of them. I really wanted to be a Legal Nurse Consultant working with Pittsburgh medical malpractice lawyers for example. Mistakes happen and I hope you would never need one but if you do, They are here to help. The Nursing field is constantly evolving as there is do much learn. I think learning is in my blood as my father was working on his Doctorate in history when he passed away.

In closing, I hope you will take away some of the positive points that living in Pittsburgh can offer and come and visit our great city to see exactly what I mean.

How the Mind Diet Can Help Stroke Victims

Reviews · February 21, 2018

Strokes are a scary thing and unlike you may think, they can happen to anyone at any age. Statistics show that every 40 seconds one person in the United States has a stroke. Yearly there are about 795,000 people who have a stroke, and of those, 185,000 people suffer a recurrent stroke – meaning it isn’t their first time. These numbers have led to a lot of attention not just on the risk of suffering a stroke, and learning how to identify if you are suffering from one, but also the recovery process itself.

At this year’s International Stroke Conference 2018 the Mediterranean-DASH Intervention for Neurodegenerative Delay Diet (MIND diet) was discussed in great length. As reported in utahpeoplespost.com the MIND diet was created to help shield the brain from damage and promote brain health. Researchers have found that the diet is actually able to slow down the cognitive decline in stroke victims.

So what is the MIND diet and how does it work? Let’s take a closer look.

What is the MIND Diet?

When you hear the word “diet” you automatically think of foods, which then leads people to wonder how a diet is going to help slow down cognitive decline. You aren’t far from the mark that the MIND diet does involve foods, but rather than taking foods away like a typical diet, it’s about building your diet around certain foods.

The MIND diet is one that is heavy in whole grains, lots of beans, and nuts. There is little room for fried and fast food, pastries, red meat products, sweets, trans fat, cheese, and alcohol. It’s that Mediterranean style of cooking and eating.

The senior author of the MIND diet is Martha Clare Morris, who hails from Rush University Medical Center based in Chicago, and the co-author is Laurel J. Cheria. Both have been adamant about just how helpful this diet can be.

What Can It Do for You?

Of course the big question is what the MIND diet can do for you. The studies show some pretty exciting results, with the MIND diet allowing people’s brains to function about 7.5 years younger than that of non-dieters, and that it lowers a senior’s risk of developing Alzheimer’s when they stick to the diet.

The study took a look at over 100 different stroke survivors and followed them for a course of five years. It looked at their memory and reasoning skills once a year during that five years. Participants were also asked about their eating habits. Those who were strict about the MIND diet were then monitored separately for more in-depth results.

During this time the cognitive decline of those who stuck to the MIND diet was slower than those who didn’t follow the diet.

Worthy of More Attention and Research

At the very least the results from the MIND diet research are worthy of more attention and research from others. It could just be that those who have suffered from a stroke can eat their way back to better health, or at least slow down the damaging results.
