PeachSkinSheets #Review- The Perfect Gift #HGG17

2016 Holiday Gift Guide, Gifts For The Family, Reviews · November 7, 2017

I received the below mentioned complimentary product for free or a discounted rate. Whether or not you agree, All opinions and thoughts are 100% my own.

How do you like your bed sheets? Some would say that’s a silly question when in fact it really is one that I now feel is very important as I never really thought about it until now. I recently received the opportunity to review PeachSkinSheets for my 2017 Holiday Gift Guide. I was able to pick the size and color of them.

 About The Original PeachSkinheets~

The Original PeachSkinSheets® was founded in 2013 and is based in Atlanta, Georgia.  We pride ourselves on being The Original, One and Only Authentic Brand, and our signature peach zipper pull is featured on every sheet package. Our affordable bed sheets are made from a breathable, high performance athletic grade SMART fabric that is great for hot sleepers due to its thermal control and moisture wicking properties.  In addition, the ultra soft brushed finish provides a softness level that parallels 1500 thread count cotton but without the shrinkage, wrinkles and pilling. We thrive on being a quality company with a quality product and going the extra mile for our customers.   You can find us online, at local pop up events as well as at our retail location in North Point Mall, Alpharetta, Georgia.  Once you’ve tried them, we know that you will never sleep on anything other than The Original PeachSkinSheets®!

The Original PeachSkinSheets are GREAT for hot sleepers! Breathable, ultra soft, anti-pill and anti-snag bed sheets featuring thermal control and moisture management properties…warm sleepers stay cool, and cool sleepers stay cozy. The durable athletic grade performance SMART fabric wicks away moisture to keep you drier and more comfortable. Best of all, they have a luxurious 1500 Thread Count softness with a brushed PeachSkin finish on both sides. Available in Split King, Cali King, King, Queen, Full, Twin and XL Dorm Twin and XL Dorm Full.

I do not know about you but to me presentation is everything. If you look at the upper left photo, This is what I saw when I opened the box. The upper right photo is what I found when I removed the case from the box. It is hard not to know the PeachSkinSheet theme going on here~

I have a ton of medical issues and sleep is what I usually do not get at night. We have done everything from buying new pillows to a new mattress to spraying my pillow with a lilac scent but the aches and pains of Fibromyalgia and Rheumatoid Arthritis still keep me from falling and staying a sleep . One of the major obstacles I also face are hot flashes. Why do they always hit at night? Some sweating but I get really, really hot then really, really cold. The PeachSkinSheets also help me with this problem as they have thermal control which I am in love with!

A Few Key Points About PeachSkinSheets~

  • Anti-Slip
  • Spandex-Free
  • Hypoallergenic
  • Anti-Microbial
  • Colors Will Not Fade
  • Stain Resistant
  • Dries Super Fast
  • No Shrinkage
  • Fiber Never Treated with Pesticides Like Natural, Non-Organic Fabrics.
  • Pet Hair Does Not “Weave” Itself into Fabric, and High Performance Yarns Offer Better Protection Against Claws.

My Thoughts/Review~

I will be the first to admit that I never bought a set of bed sheets for myself. When my Mom was alive she would buy them, I would get them as hand me downs or from a relative who had passed away. Sad, I know. It was not until I received the PeachSkinSheets and my husband and I tried them that I came to the realization that I would never take hand me downs again as they were usually of poor quality. PeachSkinSheets are an incredible 1500 thread count soft. I just don’t get it but these sheets are amazing. The PeachSkinSheets keep me cool when I’m hot and keep me warm when I am cold. They wash up and dry wrinkle free perfectly. The Smart Fabric they use wicks away moisture, is a breathable fabric, anti-pill and anti- slip which means no slipping out of bed. What is there not to love about PeachSkinSheets 18 inch deep pockets and anti-microbial. One nights sleep on the PeachSkinSheets was enough to make me sold on them as they always have a monthly sale($55) on their colors of the month.   Since we bought this house a little under 2 years ago, I thought I would paint the bedroom an Olive color. That is why I picked Sage Green for my sheets. I am know thinking of painting it a blue/gray but that means I need to order another pair of PeachSkinSheets. They would also make the best a Holiday Gift ever for anyone on you list who has everything or who has nothing. Either way they are perfect.

Prices start at $55.  They always have 2 Colors of the Month priced at $55 for any size set.  Their regular sale price is $79.95 for any size set while Split King/Adjustable Bed specialty sizes are $99.95.  Here is the link to the current Colors of the Month .

I give PeachSkinSheets my thumbs up and I highly recommend them for yourself or anyone on your Holiday list.

Please show our sponsor some love by following/liking them on Facebook and Twitter.

Please check back towards the end of the week for a link to a giveaway where 1 reader will will a set of PeachSkinSheets in their choice of color and size for their very own. The photos below are some of my pets loving these sheets…..

How Being Creative Can Make You Happier

Reviews · November 6, 2017

The concept of art therapy is nothing new. Anyone who has ever indulged in a creative pastime or hobby can attest to the myriad ways that it improves our general sense of wellbeing. It gives us a sense of accomplishment and allows us to engage parts of our brains that we otherwise would mostly neglect. Not only this but as we become aware of our skills and talents improving, we will feel an additional boost in confidence.

Finding a creative outlet is an excellent way of keeping depression at bay and can also form a useful basis for meeting new people and trying new things. In this article, we take a look at the science behind creativity and how it can help to improve multiple aspects of our lives.

What is Creativity?

First, we need to ask exactly what we mean by creativity? The general consensus amongst psychologists is that creativity is the ability to formulate new ideas, identify new links between different ideas, and devise novel solutions to problems. Creativity engages multiple areas of our brains and encourages us to consider the world around us in new ways.

Everyone Is Creative

Many people describe themselves as not being very creative because they don’t play an instrument, write, draw, paint, or any of the many things that we traditionally think of as being creative. However, the problem here is that we are using too narrow a definition of creative. Creativity can be expressed in a number of different ways. Even cooking and preparing a meal is a form of creativity, so we shouldn’t feel that our version of creativity is somehow incorrect.

Different people have different talents, but there are very few people in the world who genuinely do not possess any talents; it is simply a case of finding yours. If for example, you work in a business where you are required to produce reports or other materials for other people, then you are being creative; you are engaging the different areas of your brain to identify a problem and devise a solution.

Equally, if there is a particular creative pursuit such as writing or art that you want to pursue but feel you lack the necessary skills, then you should give it a go anyway. Many people fall into the trap of assuming that creativity and talent are things that some people are just born with, but this is not the case. If you would like to produce a comic, for example, then you could make use of RageMaker.net, a tool which provides graphics, so you can focus on other aspects.

Augmenting Therapy

If you suffer from depression, then you will likely have some experience with cognitive therapies. These are therapies which are designed to change the way that we approach certain thoughts and subjects. Such therapies are the most effective way of combating depression for most people, but they can be further augmented by engaging with your creative passions. Art therapy is an established form of in what is known as a global effect.

Creativity is a powerful process that engages our brains in a number of different ways. Exactly how this alleviates the symptoms of depression we still don’t know for sure, but all the evidence suggests it is effective.

Lugz Women’s Drifter Fleece XL #Review #HGG17

Reviews · November 2, 2017

I received the below mentioned complimentary product either for free or at a discounted rate. Whether or not you agree, My thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.

Do you have a favorite shoe/boot brand? What a silly question you might ask but when you find a shoe/boot brand that you fall in love with, You just stick with it. I mean it it’s not broke, Then fix it. I was thrilled when the opportunity came about to review the Lugz Women’s Drifter Fleece XL boot. This would make the perfect Holiday gift for anyone on your list.About Lugz~

COMPANY BACKGROUND

Always an innovator and leader in footwear, Lugz first made a name for itself in October of 1993, bringing its first line of boots to market, with the initial product consisting of two styles of boots, a quilted vest and a pair of jeans.

Soon Lugz was endorsed by key players from the world of hip hop and has continued to do so through out the years. One such collaboration led Lugz to breathe life to a whole new category of footwear with the introduction of the first ever celebrity-endorsed “Funk Master Flex” urban driving shoe. This was only the beginning as support then lead to a collaborative line with hip-hop superstar Bryan “Baby” Williams, aka “Birdman” with his own series of sneakers and boots.

In 2006 Orange County Choppers, the world’s premier builders of custom motorcycles signed on to endorse Lugz shoes, which they were already wearing so it was a natural fit. With its aggressive “built for the streets” reputation Lugz collaborated with Paul Teutul, Jr. to create a signature Lugz shoe “the Torx” which interpreted this incredibly well.

In the fall of 2008 Lugz shot on to the Mixed Martial Arts scene signing its first two MMA fighters, Lyoto Machida and Houston Alexander as endorsers. Machida captured the title of UFC Light Heavyweight Champion as he represented Lugz. With MMA becoming the fastest growing sport/entertainment platform with an increasingly growing fan base, Lugz was excited to be apart of this growing trend and later signed Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. In 2010 Cain Velasquez became the newest endorser of Lugz.; immediately after signing, Cain fought to become UFC World Heavyweight Champion. In 2011, Lugz continued to grow its Team – signing UFC Welterweight Josh Koscheck and UFC Light Heavyweight Phil Davis.

From its inception, Lugz footwear has been an innovator in the footwear market from its signature styles, to creating trendsetting styles beyond boots and has added casual shoes and athletics to the mix for the Lugz men, Lugz women and Lugz kids lines.

My Thoughts/Review~

So I have started walking as I want to shed a few pounds(don’t we all). Walking in the winter is not very feasible if you do not have the right footwear. We just had our first snow fall which I loved and when I went outside to walk-I put on my new Women’s Drifter Fleece XL, Took my first step and thought “I am in love!”. How could a boot be like walking on air? How could a boot give me this much support? How cold a boot give me this much comfort? I am here to tell you that it does all of this and so much more. If I had to chose just one thing that I love about these boots- I could not as I love everything about them. These would make the perfect gift for the special women on your list.

I give these boots my highest recommendation and my thumbs up.

My Review/Thoughts~

The Lugz Drifter 6 ST WIDE is by far the most comfortable boot my husband has ever worn. His words not mine. I can also tell you from experience that the material the shoes are made out of can with stand chemicals as my husband used to work for a major carpet cleaning company where he would have to buy new boots every 2 to 3 months but with Lugz boots- He would have to replace them every 9 months to a year. You not only get comfort but you get cost savings all wrapped up in one. I’d say that is a win-win in my book.

I give this product my thumbs up and I highly recommend it as a Holiday gift or an everyday gift.

When You Should and Shouldn’t Cut or Color Your Own Hair

Reviews · November 2, 2017

Learning how to cut and color your own hair can be a tempting way to save a lot of money, and can also be a good option if you hate going to the salon. However, there are some times when you really shouldn’t try things at home, whether for the health or your hair or because they are very tricky to do if you are not experienced.

Here are the times when you can normally safely try cutting or coloring at home:

Trims and Bangs

If you have bangs, you will probably find they grow too long more regularly than you want to visit a hairdresser. This is certainly something you can learn to maintain yourself, and there are lots of tutorials on the web that can help you do a good job of it.

For trimming hair in general to keep it in good condition, you can also (depending on your style) often do this yourself using tutorials from the web, as you are not altering the style or cutting away much length.

Temporary Colors

Temporary hair colors tend to be gentle to the hair, and do not contain things like peroxide and ammonia like many permanent or hair lightening dyes do. If you want to try something new, such as some of the great styles at mynewhairstyles.net, without too much commitment or any hair damage, it is normally safe to do this at home. However, do ensure you do the allergy tests recommended by the manufacturer. You can develop allergies suddenly, so this is important even if you have used the same dye before.

Darker Permanent Colors and Root Touch Ups

Darker colors are kinder to your hair than lighter ones, so as long as you follow the instructions you can generally do these effectively by yourself. Be sure to wear the gloves as these will stain your hands and also use an old towel rather than one you wouldn’t want to get stained! This can be a cheap and easy way to cover grey hair or to get a subtly different look.

Of course, while there are products available to do just about anything to your hair at home, here are some things you shouldn’t try unless you are experienced and willing to take some risks with your hair:

Bleaching and Highlighting

Any kind of lightening product will cause damage to your hair, so this process is best overseen by a professional. A professional will also be able to use the right sort of toner to stop your lightened hair looking brassy.

Perms

Perming your hair is not only damaging, it is also very hard to do to yourself, so always go to a salon for this.

Significant Changes in Length

Cutting your hair in a significantly different way is hard to do on yourself, even for professional hair stylists. This is because it is difficult to see and access the hair at the back, so you can end up with a very uneven cut.

If you are tempted to go for a change you have never tried on yourself before, it is always better to go to a salon. For maintenance and temporary changes, however, it can be a good money saver to learn how to do it yourself.
